Grono – Ancient Method Wines is located in the Marananga sub-region of the Barossa Valley, just outside of Nuriootpa. This area contains some of the more established, smaller Barossa Valley winemakers and has a history dating back to the early days of vineyard and wine production in the region.
“Grono” is a word of Polish origin meaning berry or cluster with reference to wine grapes, but it also can be used to refer to a close-knit group of family or friends. The ‘Ancient Method’ motto reflects our philosophy of using traditional winemaking and growing techniques upon which the reputations of the great wines of the world were built.
Our Ancient Method winemaking philosophy is expressed to the maximum in our rustic, yet elegant flagship wine “Epicurus”. This Barossa Valley Shiraz is only bottled in the best years from hand-select fruit and is made to reflect the region, soil and season. Rare and refined it is truly the essence of the Barossa Valley.
